Kenya Encourages The Launch of Maize Milling Machine Plant

Maize flour is an essential cereal in Kenyans’ life. It is estimated that the annually consumption of maize flour reaches up to approximately 100 kg each person. The expenses of maize flour mill takes up more than one third even for the poor. The significant demanding and rising maize price escalate the increase of maize flour mill, which also have a significant impact on the local residents’ life and the business of maize milling machine in Kenya.

A ccording to a paper by the World Bank, inappropriate agriculture policy and trade policy aggravated the food deficit in Kenya. Maize milling machine owners appealed to the government to increase the low supply of maize. Otherwise, the shortage of maize will result in the increasing of maize flour mill. Government set up a series of industrial policy to encourage the launch of maize milling machine in order to keep food security in the country. It’s a long way to promote its food security, remain economy stability and improve local residents’ life.

After the increase payment to farmers, National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) decided to raise the price of maize flour. It largely encourages the profits of maize flour. Maize milling machine in Kenya is concentrated in rural area close to the raw material. The launch of maize mill plant will accelerate the growth of economy, and create more jobs. It will be a mutual beneficial project for investors and government.
